Compliance, Sourcing & Commercial Terms

Everything your procurement team needs to qualify Blazels as a supplier — export status, material standards, responsible sourcing, Incoterms and lead times, in one place.

Export Status

A Special Economic Zone Unit in Jaipur

Blazels manufactures from a unit inside a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Jaipur, Rajasthan — India's export-oriented customs regime. For an overseas buyer, that is not a formality. It is the difference between a shipment that clears and a shipment that sits.

  • Bonded, export-first customs handling — SEZ units clear through a dedicated channel built for export cargo, not general domestic freight
  • Duty-free import of raw materials — silver, findings, packaging and consumables enter the zone without import duty, which holds your landed cost down
  • Audited, documented movement — every gram in and out of an SEZ unit is recorded against statutory returns, giving you a clean paper trail for chain-of-custody questions
  • Built to export, not adapted to it — the facility has operated as an exporter to 30+ countries since 2000, across the US, UK, Australia, Germany, Japan and Hong Kong
Material Standards

What Is Actually in the Metal

Specifications we manufacture to as standard. Anything on this list can be tightened to your own tech pack — send it and we will confirm against it line by line.

Silver fineness 925 sterling silver as standard (92.5% Ag). Alternative finenesses quoted on request.
Nickel 925 sterling silver is not a nickel-bearing alloy. EU REACH Annex XVII entry 27 nickel-release limits apply chiefly to plating layers, findings and any base-metal components — we confirm these per order and can arrange third-party nickel-release testing for EU and UK shipments.
Plating Rhodium, gold and vermeil plating applied in-house. Plating thickness is specified per order — state your micron requirement and we will build to it. Vermeil for the US market has a defined minimum thickness; we will match the standard you are selling into.
Lead & cadmium Not used. Blazels does not use lead or cadmium in any alloy, solder, plating or finding. We manufacture well inside the statutory limits set by EU REACH, US state-level rules and Japan, and support third-party verification on request.
Stones 50+ natural semi-precious and precious stones, plus moissanite, cubic zirconia, colored diamonds and meteorite. Cut in-house to your calibration or a fully custom shape. Natural, treated and lab-grown material is disclosed as such on every quotation.
Quality control Stage-wise QC through casting, setting, finishing and packing — inspection at each stage rather than a single end-of-line check.
Responsible Sourcing

Where the Material Comes From

Blazels runs on 100% solar-powered production and plastic-free packaging, with traceable sourcing and a long-standing women's-employment program on the floor. The full sustainability picture is on our CSR & Sustainability page.

  • 100% solar-powered manufacturing — the facility's production load runs on its own solar generation
  • Plastic-free packaging — retail-ready and compliant with plastic-reduction targets in EU and UK retail programs
  • Ethical, traceable sourcing — supplier records maintained per lot, so material origin can be traced when your compliance team asks
  • Direct employment, on-site — production happens in our own facility with our own staff, not dispersed through unmonitored subcontractors

Buyer FAQ

Questions We Get from Overseas Buyers

What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

Blazels works with flexible MOQs rather than a single fixed threshold. MOQ is set per style and depends on the complexity of the piece, the stone calibration and whether the design needs new tooling. Boutique launches and large-scale repeat programs are both supported. Send your design and target volume and we will quote the MOQ for that specific style.

How long does sampling and production take?

CAD models are turned around in as little as 24 hours. Physical samples ship in 10 to 14 days. Full production runs take 4 to 6 weeks from approved sample, depending on order volume and finishing requirements.

Are you located in a Special Economic Zone?

Yes. Blazels manufactures from a unit in a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. SEZ status means the facility operates under India's export-oriented customs regime, with duty-free import of raw materials and consumables and streamlined, bonded export clearance — which reduces customs friction and transit delay for overseas buyers.

Which Incoterms do you ship on?

Blazels quotes on Ex Works, FCA, CPT and CIP as standard — the Incoterms 2020 terms for air freight — and can arrange DAP or DDP to most destinations on request. Shipments move by insured air courier with real-time tracking. The correct term depends on whether you hold your own import registration in the destination country — we will advise per market.

Is your jewelry compliant with EU nickel-release rules?

Blazels manufactures in 925 sterling silver, which is not a nickel-bearing alloy. The nickel-release limits set by EU REACH Annex XVII entry 27 apply to items in prolonged contact with skin, and are most relevant to plating layers, alloy components and findings. We will confirm the specification and arrange third-party nickel-release testing for any order destined for the EU or UK market on request.

Do UK orders need to be hallmarked?

Under the UK Hallmarking Act, silver articles above 7.78 grams sold in the UK must carry a UK-recognised hallmark, applied by a UK Assay Office. Blazels supplies 925 sterling silver to the agreed fineness and can mark pieces with your sponsor's mark; assay and hallmarking are normally completed by your UK Assay Office on import. We will advise on piece weight at design stage so you know which pieces exceed the 7.78 g hallmarking weight and therefore require assay.
